HOUSE OF THE DRAGON SEASON 2 EPISODE 7 ENDING EXPLAINED!

At the end of House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 , Aemond's council meeting is interrupted by a dragon seen flying around King's Landing. Since it is a dragon Aemond does not recognize, he quickly sets out to find Vhagar, his dragon who has been recovering since the Battle of Rook's Rest.

He mounts Vhagar and flies off in pursuit of the unknown dragon, which is ridden by Ulf. Aemond pursues the dragon into Blackwater Bay, stopping just short of Dragonstone before telling Vhagar to turn and retreat.

At the end of House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 , Aemond is troubled by the situation, seeing an unknown dragon with an unknown rider, and he begins to pursue it to gain more information. However, pursuing it into enemy territory would be a huge risk, as he knows that the Blacks have at least three other dragons in the vicinity: Syrax, Vermax, and Moondancer.

Vhagar may be the greatest of the dragons, but Aemond knows he is not invulnerable and that this is not a fight he should fight. In fact, the Blacks have sent a warning shot to Aemond to warn him of what lies ahead.

While Vermithor was ridden by King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, Silverwing was previously ridden by Queen Alysanne, and was left riderless for decades. Silverwing is known for her docile nature, hence her kindness to Ulf at the end of House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7.

She is not known for her fighting skills, but she is old and large enough to pose a threat. Vermithor and Silverwing also have a rare bond, mirroring the bond of their former rider king and queen. For everything you need to know about Episode 8, read here.

At the end of House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 , Hugh not only calls out to the dragon, saying he is ready to die, but he also saves another dragon seed. Vermithor respects Hugh's tenacity and fearlessness.

Powerful dragons usually want riders who embrace them, and Vermithor's previous rider is one of the most respected men the Seven Kingdoms have ever known. The dragon sets the bar high and sees Hugh for his strength in the episode's climactic moment.
